But first, let’s take it back to the very beginning: Jordan Eddi founded AJ’s Jewelry in 1988 with $4,000 and a dream. Jordan was 19 years old and started in the business by working for his uncle until he felt ready to go out on his own. With just two showcases, a safe and cash register, he set out with a hankering for success.
He quickly became a neighborhood staple and a name the people could trust. Always emphasizing that:
This mentality has taken him through 37 years of being in the retail business, where the original store still stands today in Ridgewood, New York.
AJ’s Jewelry became not only a stepping stone for Jordan early on in his career, but it is the home to many new and exciting life milestones. Here he met his beautiful wife Violet, who came in to shop for a gift, was instantly smitten and was determined to get the girl. She became his wife, number one fan, best friend, and biggest supporter.
You would usually find her creating the season’s newest store window display on Myrtle Avenue. Or inside chatting away with customers, going above and beyond to make sure they walked out with a smile from ear to ear. She was as radiant as a diamond on the inside and out.
Together they were just two kids who set out on building a bustling retail business, a family, and a house where many fond memories were made. They managed to grow together making a beautiful livelihood for themselves. Just when they thought things would be settling down in life: the kids were grown and done with college and master’s degree programs and the business was running like a well-oiled machine, the couple was getting ready to move into the “I’m moving to Florida” phase of life.
However, life doesn’t always go perfectly according to plan.
Their hopes and dreams of pursuing an online custom jewelry business to go with their next phase of life was put on hold once more. In December 2021, Violet passed away leaving a legacy behind. He was left with two choices after experiencing a loss as tremendous as this one: to continue to pursue this passion project they always dreamed about or put the brakes on it all.
