When it comes to expressing love, nothing says it quite like a piece of custom jewelry designed with heartfelt intent. One of our recent projects, a custom-made 14 Karat Yellow Gold Hummingbird Charm, is a shining example of this.
The journey of creating this unique charm began with an initial sketch of the hummingbird. After refining the artwork to ensure the bird's elegance and the placement of the emeralds, the design was rendered into a vector file, a critical step in the jewelry-making process. The vector file allowed for precise translation of the two-dimensional artwork into a format readable by the laser engraving machine.
Once the design was finalized, it was time to bring the charm to life. The vector file was uploaded to our laser engraving machine, which meticulously cut out the hummingbird from a 14 Karat Yellow Gold sheet. Every intricate detail of the bird was captured in gold, from its delicate wings to its graceful beak, ensuring that the final piece was a faithful representation of the client's vision.
After the charm was finished being cut, it was off to our master jeweler's bench for the finishing touches.
The synthetic round emeralds were carefully set in two specific areas of the bird. These stones not only brought the design to life with their rich green hue but also added depth and character to the charm. The use of synthetic emeralds provided a cost-effective yet stunning option for the client while retaining the beauty and symbolism of the gemstone.
Once the stones were set, the charm went a final polish to bring out the true, warm hue of 14 Karat Yellow Gold.
